Hello,

I have a website running on a e-smith. You can reach it from the internet on normal http as well as https. I would like to make it ONLY accessable in a secure way, so only https. How can i change the config so it won't accept connections on the normal port 80 but only on https (443 ?)

Thx in advance

Jan

Hello again,

I sugested the link to Darrell May's howto and tested it myself to be sure. It seems to solve some of the problem 'Snarf' mentioned. There are some problems that I've not been able to figure out (yet) that might be of interest to your subject:

1. When you try to use webmail through http you get a nice clean page directing you to https. I don't know how this is done though.

2. How to allow both valid e-smith users AND some external user to access the webpage.

3. How to manage user accounts and passwords (add/edit/remove) and maybe allow the external users to edit their passwords.

I considered posting these questions seperately but it seems to me to be very much related to your original problem. Snarf I hope you don't mind. :-)

regards,

Jan

No ofcourse not ! Any input is appriciated !
Yesterday was a long day at the office (cluster nodes that won't come up etc) so i didn't have time to read nor test.
Maybe someone else has some answers to "our" questions :-)
