Topic: Problems With NIS Client

Complete newbie to sme so forgive ignorance that may feature in this post.

I have been following the Swert-Knudsen how-to for NIS user/password sync between SME servers. Here:

I have set up the NIS server, which appears to be running fine.

However I appear to be having problems with the client side. Whenever i try to start the ypbind service i get the following

Binding to the NIS domian:                [   OK  ]
Listening for an NIS domian server..............................     [   Failed   ]

When i run "rpcinfo -u localhost ypbind" on the clinet i get

rpcinfo: RPC: Program not registered
program 100007 is not available


I assume the client is not connecting to the server, just can't figure out why?

I installed this NIS service and it does not show any errors. A reboot was required though.
The only problem I have is how to use this?
