LDAP - adding users w/o having them show up in LDAP
« on: August 11, 2008, 10:57:38 PM »
Hello all,

I have searched and searched, but I am unable to find an answer to my question:

Can you add users without having them show up in LDAP?

For instance...my main server acting as the PDC has to have all users on the network, yet I don' want student names showing up in the LDAP? Is this at all possible or should I look for a different way to skin this animal?

Thanks in advance,
grattman

Not that I am aware of, perhaps you can define access privileges to the LDAP tree as well. I know AD has multiple levels which you can allow users access to, for instance if not an admin I am not able to see the hardware tree (I believe, no way to test right now).
