Topic: Dual mail delivery configuration, can some1 help me?

Maybe this is already addressed somewhere, but i cant find it...or maybe sme does it by default and is not documented or cant find it either, im using actually mdaemon as mail server but i want to dump that shitty windoze (as server at least, sorry linux lovers, linux is not so game friendly, and there is no vmware, wine, etc that solves that completelly), so back to the subject i want my SME server to send the mail in this order:

- first try directly talking to the remote server and if the remote server rejects the mail for any reason whatsoever (including plain rejection of the destination mail address as example, why o why admins do that)  then
- forward that problematic mail to my isp mail server
(maybe with a set number of retrys in the first step with a set timer between them)

This is kinda usefull for ppl like me that have the server on a dynamic ip, most servers just reject mails from dyn ips nowadays (god bless spammers)...
So, is there any way to do this? im installing sme soon anyway but if i can just have this im going to be even happier...im sure it can be done, but wasnt able to find any info searching, again sorry if its redundant...

Another question, what is that Domainkeys (or senderID) thing? is it usefull at all? does SME support/use them? can any1 explain me how to use that if pos? i do have access to dns records as im on dynip but using zoneedit...and btw, does SME plan to support it in the future? (yea yea, i can set my account from the console, but im kinda CLI alergic as most windoze users)

You can quite happily run a sme server on a dynamic IP connection, using the built in dynamic IP client, or install the ddclient contrib if you host multiple domains.

The answer to the issue of mail being rejected by receiving servers, is to set your ISP's mail server in server manager Email panel, under "Address of Internet provider's mail server". That way the more trusted/reliable IP of your ISP is considered as the sending IP and mail will be far less likely to be rejected, although even ISP's IP's get listed, usually temporarily on occasions.

You don't really need that email arrangement you mention, just use sme "as is".

All SME 7.x releases always have rejected mails to unknown users. The wording "return to sender" was changed to "reject" with release SME 7.3. Please update your system.
