Topic: server unreachable from the internet

I have a same server configured as serveronly. It is configured as antispam, and locally every client receive mail. Now i must configure same PDA to access to the server. I routed 993 and 25 port, but i cannot connect to the server! It seems that the server is unreachable from internet, because if i try to connect to another server inside the LAN there is no problem. Log doesn't report anything useful. I try to enable imap instead imaps, but nothing change. Locally i can download email, from internet i can't. There isn't any kind of firewall or something similar. I take a look to the manual, but i can't find any suggestion. I also search into the forum, but i don't find anything too. Someone can help me?

You did configure the external DNS server? That is the one linking your hostname with your IP number.

What if you try to access your site form outside by IP number? If that does not work it is most likely a firewall issue and the logs should give you a clue.

The same thing happen when i use my public ip address and I'm quite sure there isn' any kind of firewall, in fact if i try to connect to another server creating a new routing rule there isn't any kind of problem! I think that there is some misconfiguration, but i cannot find which one is wrong!

I create this server-only whose only purpose is filter mail. I installed fetchmail without problem and it run until yesterday, when my boss asked me to filter also the mail in his PDA. I opened in the router 993 port and enabled IMAPS into server, but PDA doesn't reach the server. I try also to connect via mail agent using IMAPS and if i use local address there isn't any trouble, but if i try to connect passing through the router there isn't any possibility that it receive mails. My boss think there is a problem concerning the router, but i suppose it's a misconfiguration of the server.

If there is some details that may help, feel free to ask!
