Topic: SMTP Authentication

I would like to be able to send mail using the SMTP server on the e-smith from outside the LAN. I realise that in the default configuration e-smith does not allow sending of mail from external sites. Is there any way of configuring SMTP authentication so that I can send email from external sites. I also realise I can use the webmail interface but I'd rather be able to use the SMTP server externally.
