Hi,

Is it possible to run 2 .sh files at backup time?
the first one before the backup starts (to shutdown vmware machines) and one after the backup (to start vmware machines again)

I'm using DAR2.

Yes it executes the pre and post backup events.

I checked out the documentation, but it seems to me that the documentation does explain about the internal backup programs from SME Server.

I'm using Dar2..


I also only found that it's possible to add pri- post backup scripts, but it doesn't explain how to place them.

Does anybody know how i can configure these scripts?

As dmay said, read the Developers Manual. It will tell you how to add programs to run at particular times.

So you want to add one script to the pre-backup event directory, and one to the post-backup event directory.
