UPS constant lost communication with server
« on: October 22, 2008, 11:25:09 PM »
I got a UPS hooked up to the server via USB, installed megatec-usb driver and configured as best as possible.
I get constant reports from the server advising lost communication with the UPS. About every 10 minutes...My gut feeling is that its most probably is a configuration issue, maybe the data update time from the UPS is too long??- I just don't know how to do it??
I can connect to the UPS via command line and am getting good data back. Without correct data from the UPS my server may be vulnerable, would like this corrected as soon as possible.

Can anyone help? I'll be happy to forward any info that may be of assistance.

Regards John

Please report back to this thread the UPS hardware model and manufacturer you are working with.   Much of the software and documentation that comes with these units is meant for MS Windows, so you can very likely throw the CD and manuals in the round file.

Once we know what you are working with, we'll get you pointed in the right direction.

Best regards,

Greg
