%changelog

* Wed Oct 18 2008 Aelintra <coco@aelintra.com> 2.2.1-670
- Speeded up trunk and extension display
- Re-architected DiD autolink into smartlink. Much nicer implementation than the original.
* Wed Oct 16 2008 Aelintra <coco@aelintra.com> 2.2.1-667
- Added function to turn on/off miniqueues
- Added auto-link function for 4-digit DDIs to link directly to extensions
- Added outcome for engaged bounce

Trunks are considerably faster to render.  Smartlink is a new switch in PTT-DiD-Trunk create.  When it's turned on it looks to see if the right four digits of the DiD match any extensions.  If they do, then it automatically fills out the routing.

Hi,

By the way, what are possible/reserved numbers for extensions ? In others words, the doc says :
Quote
Permissable values - Any number provided it is not already in use somewhere else in the system.
What are the numbers used by the system itself ? Is any other number available, according that my own config doesn't already uses it ?

SARK is very loosely based upon AT&T (now Avaya) Definity.  Internal (extension) numbers are all based upon 4 digits, giving a theoretical maximum 9999 extensions + queues + aliases.  Internal SARK numbers are all of the form *nn*. There are no 4-digit numbers reserved by SARK (although I wouldn't personally attempt to use 0000).  Any particular 4 digit number can be allocated only once. There is an exception, to do with 4 digit DiD numbers which can be allocated to both an extension and a trunk but we fiddle this internally by holding the trunk DiD in the database as nnnn*.

Best

S

Ok, thanks for your reply ! So, the new smartlink can work with any phone number, we just have to create an extension with the same number as the last 4 digits of the phone number. Very nice  :-)
