Language problems, charset
« on: May 07, 2007, 10:53:17 AM »
Hi

I have had a CMS system running on a linux server. The CMS has been migrated 1:1 to a SME Server. I encounter a single language problem after the migration. Since it only exist on the SME server I guess the CMS problem probably is a SME Server configuration issue.

Problem:
I have a headline in a news item with special Danish characters (æ, ø and å). That is no problem when displayed as text. But when converting the text to graphics (Typo3 - gif builder) the graphics cannot convert the Danish characters æ, ø and å correctly

Please see this link as example, where the headline is text:
http://www.kek.dk/index.php?id=85&tx_ttnews[pointer]=3&cHash=926b5430a0
If you then click the headline you will see the headline conterted to gif's but with errors in the Danish characters.

Since the same setup did work on the previous non-SME server i guess that it is the language setup on the SME Server that is causing my problem.

any ideas? I guess it is just a trivial linux server language setup (add danish to he list of used languages) but I am not all that familiar with linux to know if that is true

Solved
I was not related to the server in any way. But to the utf-8 vs. latin1 in DB or the webfiles.
