mail to another domain in my lan results in alias-localdelivery-user@host

I am trying to move my own mail server over to SME. I have several SME deployments now, and need to 'put my money where my mouth is' and run it in my own network.

I am running 7.3 with all the updates in a vmware vm. I also have another domain I am hosting from my network for a non-profit, it is running a postfix mail server and a couple web servers.

I can email from my existing postfix server with no problems, and I can receive mail from this mail server to sme, but I cannot send from sme to the mail server in my lan.

Any hints are greatly appreciated. I don't see any info on this alias function. I have verified that is no alias similar to the username, and I can't see that the mail server is even trying to reach the destination.
