Struggling with the most basic dialing route!
« on: November 26, 2008, 04:21:40 PM »
Hi All,

OK, this is by far the area that I struggle with the most  :???: After some help from Selintra I got my voicenetwork.ca DiD to ring in on my SAIL box  Wanting to see how reliable it was I have left in a few weeks and now I thought I would try it for outgoing calls. They don't support 7 digit dialing so I have to dial the full number ie. 1-407-445-1234 so I put a Pre-Select code of 93 for the trunk (to make sure I was actually using it  :P ) and added a route like this:
Quote
_1NXXNXXXXXX
Then I tried:
Quote
_1NXX.
then:
Quote
_NXXXXXXXXX
and finally:
Quote
_NXXNXXXXXX
And I still get their message saying no routes found
The first one I tried is voicenetwork's example for Trixbox and the others are my own attempt at working it out using their example and the examples on sarkpbx.com (I basically substituted the 0 for the 1 and altered the number of digits)  :P
I was going to try creating a cluster so I could force 1 ext to use this trunk and then attemt to create a transformation mask to allow me to dial without the 1407 for local calls, but I can't get past this hurdle  :P So can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance,
Del

when you use preselect, the route is NOT consulted (there isn't any need - you've already chosen the trunk by pressing the pre-select).

so.... it doesn't matter what you have in your route if you use trunk preselect.

Whose message says no routes found?  There is no such message in SAIL so it looks to me as tho' your message is coming from the carrier.  In which case, you are probably just dialling incorrectly for that carrier.

Best

Hi Selintra,

Yes you're right, the message is from voicenetwork.ca I will call them and found out exactly what I am meant to dial because if I dial 93 then 14074451234 I get the message and the fact that I am getting this message proves that the 93 is selecting this trunk  :???: I have tried every possible way to dial and still get the same message. I will let you know how I get on. Thanks for the reply.
