Topic: Squid and Dansquardian

Good Day

I have configured Squid to run using AUTH_Pam, so the proxy ia authenticated against users on the SME server, I install Dansguardian as per the How to on the Wiki, configure Filter groups and nothing works, everybody can still browse everything..

If I check the log files, there is nothing in the /var/log/dansguardian/access.log file, but I can see all sites browsed inthe /var/log/squid/access.log file??

I can assure you that I followed the How to closely, doing it a few times and it doesnt seem to work..How do I tell squid to use the dansguardian filtering??

Friend did you check if you have  installed a router even a switch in your LAN?,  I was the same problem, and after check a lot of  things I detected that when the users client (Windows XP and Ubuntu) were configured in the browser the option to detect automatically configuration, the router get out bypassing the firewall, the solution was:
1. - Install a simple switch
2.- Install the server and gateway as usually (eth0 for Lan (direct to a swish) and eth1 for ISP)
3.- Configure in the client the the proxy manually (192.XX.X.X and port 8080)
