forcing safe search on google
« on: September 19, 2008, 02:43:32 PM »
Hi all. I am looking at an old article on tech-geeks on forcing safe search on in google searches (to keep the "clever" kids out of mischief). I have dansguardian installed and am wondering if this article can be adapted to be used with squid, rather than squidguard.

Can anyone help me ?

see http://www.tech-geeks.org/geeklog/article.php?story=20040826115541358

It looks like it was written for an old version of SME and/or squid.

I am running SME 7.3 and figure I can adapt the script fairly easily by making a custom template in
/etc/e-smith/templates-custom/etc/squid/squid.conf as opposed to the slightly different directory discussed in the article, and have created the two files in step two and three, but not quite sure which files we need to modify for step four and five as it seems these are the links to the new files I create.

TIA
