now the former administator have leave company, but now he still receive the alarm email sent by sme server.

How to change the email address of administrator?

You should be able to edit the email forward for the "admin" account from the Users area of the server manager.

Go to the wiki (see button in menu on top of this page) and read: SME Server manuals > Administration.
Best to read it all, but Chapter 9 will probably be of most interest for your situation.

No need to edit files manually, just open a browser, navigate to the server-manager and select Users from the left menu, modify the admin user, you should be able to define the address there or consider delivering it locally.

I have check the email , the alarm email was sent to root,

I think have some place set the alias.

I think my problem is like this

all the yum update email was sent to root.

Hi eddiechen,

Can you show what is the 'alarm email' content? Some contribs like sme7admin send alarm mail to defined user when something goes wrong like disk space warning, high cpu usage, etc. From the content of the alarm mail we can determine 'who' send it .

Are you sure the alarm is from the SME server and not from other devices like router or firewall?

2009-02-18 11:01:01.345116500 starting delivery 20: msg 280188 to remote aaa@bbb.com


aaa@bbb.com the email I have change, every hour would sent a email to the mailbox.


can you told me how to check the message msg 280188 ?

I wonder, can you not simply reset the admin password?

That way all access to the former employee is shut off.

the problem have been solve, the admin setting the corn job. every hours sent a email to him.

/etc/cron.hourly
