Changed users password now they cant login
« on: June 01, 2009, 02:44:24 PM »
Hi,
I have a strange problem.

I have changed 2 users passwords using the admin panel and now they cannot log in.
The admin pages showed password accepted but the client would not allow the login.
I have tried creating a new user and get the same problem. I have also tried to log in on another machine as we have roaming profiles configured but again will not accept the password.
I tried to put the original password in, this went through on the admin page as acceptable but the user still could not log in.

TIA Mark

Is there anything interesting in /var/log/messages or /var/log/httpd/error_log or /var/log/httpd/admin_error_log?

The logs look OK. Messages log says Password changed.

Please verify the new passwords against other service, like webmail for example.

Other thoughts:
1) differente keyboard layout = simbols on wrong place
2) CAPS on/off when changing password
...

Is your browser using a non-standard character set?

Sorted... For some reason the machine had no trust with the server so took off the domain and reconnected to the domain and all OK now.

Very strange it was only a password change and was logging in OK with admin user
