Domain User Accounts
« on: April 02, 2009, 10:13:06 PM »
When I logoff a domain user account from my Windows XP machine, it doesn't appear to update the profile with the files that I added or changed.  I know that with a Windows server, all your files are updated no matter what computer you go to (on that domain, at least).

What can I do to fix this?

...and please also read the manuals as that is mentioned there.

Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. OK.  I did look at that manual, but it looks like I will have to do some "netlogon" tinkering.  Does anyone know the commands that need to be included in the netlogon file?

Maybe this problem: There is a bug in some nvidia display drivers which prevents windows from writing the profile back to the server at logoff. Really. This took me quite some time to find out.

I think that the two main computers that I was testing are using nvidia drivers.  I will have to look into that.

That appears to have fixed at least part of the problem.  I'm still testing it on different computers, so I'm not sure if it fixed the whole thing.
