Topic: Virus blocking tutorial - updated for 7.x?

Does anyone have an updated version of the virus blocking tutorial found at:

I would like to add a few new definitions to the list, but I'm not certain how to do this in light of the differences between 6.x and 7.x.

A quick rearrangement of the Howto text has been done and posted here:
http://wiki.contribs.org/Virus_blocking_tutorial

It does need review particularly to update/correct the information regarding the pattern matching database contents that are in sme7.x.

For now you can just add any new database patterns in a suitable title towards the end of the article eg
New database patterns

That info can be incorporated into the main article later when it gets fully rehashed.

Ray, I realize you put some serious effort into that wiki article, so I thank you for that.  Sorry I didn't see your reply sooner, but now I have .wmv and .mpg files blocked and I'm quite happy about it

Did you use the patterns for wmv and mpg as per the Howto, or did you use/create something else ?

I used the patterns from the Howto.  The tricky one was the .mpg, as it seemed to be a little hit-and-miss, but the .wmv worked great.
