Samba shares are sometimes not accessible
« on: May 27, 2002, 08:27:28 PM »
Hi!

i have the problem, that sometimes (it seems after a longer time of not beeing accessed) the samba shares on my SME 5.1.2 server are not accessible anymore. i have to hit F5 in network neighbourhood 5, 6 times and then all shares are active again.

where could lie the problem in this case?

Hi,

Try upgrade to samba version 2.2.3a. Get it here:

so i did. but the problem persists. it seems it just takes very long until SME delivers the directory to the windows client, kind of a time-out problem..

i don't think that it is a windows problem because i had a mandrake 7.1 server before i switched to e-smith and everything was fine...
