May 15 04:16:15 server kernel: Device sdc not ready.

You unplugged a USB device without umounting first. Reboot will fix.

OK, my guess was wrong.

What does:

dmesg | grep sdc

tell you?

The dm-0 and dm-1 devices suggest you have some sort of 'fake raid' setup. If you have RAID capability in your M/B chipset, then check that it is disabled in the BIOS.

I assume you mean the sme7admin contrib. I would check my configuration settings for this contrib whether you might have enabled one of its checks to do for /dev/sdc?
