ftpusers
« on: September 27, 2009, 12:02:08 AM »
I am an old BSD UNIX user
we used to modify a files called ftpusers to allow root access via ftp
i located the ftpusers file and root is listed there indicating root is blocked
it also says not to change it, so I am assuming there is a different file I
can VI and then regenerate a new ftpusers file.
Can someone lend some help
thanks

Why do you need the root user to see the whole tree? There is a reason this is blocked as this might create havock on your system. Try the admin account and see if that gives you enough privileges to do the work with.

the server is not exposed to the internet and being able to
access the entire tree makes it easier to access the files
with out being logged into the machine locally
