Dolibarr on SME
« on: June 11, 2009, 10:16:02 PM »
Hi all:
I 'have installed Dolibarr (ERP/CRM) software on my SME server, It look great, really....And I was thinking it could be a really good contrib to do, integrating some functions or share database tables between dolibarr and SME server. (for example users and groups, maybe assign each project to Ibays) I have no enough knowledge to do this by myself but I could help on development of such a contrib... if someone else thinks it could be possible.

I've tested some other ERP packages (frontaccounting and Weberp) but they are more accounting oriented (really good accounting and stock management software!!! both). and Dolibarr is intended to administrate a SME in a very simple way.

Anyway I'wanted to share some thoughts about this software (free, php, mysql)
Regards
Alejandro

Thanks for pointing this out! It looks qiute promising at first glance, - I'll certainly take a deeper look into this on the SME Server platform shortly.

During my short visit at their site, I also found another equally interesting application:

http://claroline.net

"An Open Source eLearning and eWorking platform"

I'll have to dive into that as well   , eventhough it looks like Php 5 is required here

I have tested it with dolibarr, and it should work in any contrib with php scripts installed on an ibay.
you should enable php 5 compatibility on each ibay as you need, as per howto.

A.

Well:

My experiment with claroline doesn't seem to work out too well:

Code: [Select]
PHP Parse error:  parse error, unexpected '{' in /home/e-smith/files/ibays/claroline/html/inc/lib/user.lib.php on line 785

I'll give Dolibarr a try instead  :???:

did you enable php 5 support for that ebay? (too obvious!, I know)
My suspects are that claroline needs real php (and 5.1.x or newer.)
but you could try claroline on sme 8 beta...
if same error persists it could be a claroline bug...
if it works you are working in advance for the next release....
