LDAP and SSH consuming all my CPU
« on: September 30, 2009, 03:09:07 PM »
For about a week now I'm having issues of high CPU usage. I have searched the forums and also google but had no success finding an answer.
Code: [Select]
PID USER     PRI  NI  VIRT   RES   SHR S CPU% MEM%   TIME+  Command NLWP
 5320 ldap      25   0 13244  2236  1552 R 89.0  0.2  2h23:41 /usr/sbin/slapd -4
I also leave the remote access option turned off, using only when I need the shell access. The minute I make remote access available (local network only), the system will have the high peak as well:
Code: [Select]
PID USER     PRI  NI  VIRT   RES   SHR S CPU% MEM%   TIME+  Command NLWP
16811 root      25   0  4108  1684  1376 R 97.0  0.2  0:22.40 sshd: [accepted]
Please advise as to where should I start looking for the problem, as I'm really lost.

Thanks for any help.

Please report a bug in the bugtracker for it and while you do so please provide some information on the history of your server.

Also please attach (do not post inline) the output of the following commands to the bug report:
Code: [Select]
/sbin/e-smith/audittools/newrpms
/sbin/e-smith/audittools/templates

And last but not least, please report a link to the bug you created here for future readers.

You can find the bugtracker here: http://bugs.contribs.org/

Thanks in advance.
