Have you tried installing it in the 'printers' configuration panel in server-manager in SME? You should be able to set it up as a new printer and assign the 192.168.1.11 address, you will prob want to leave the setting as the default 'RAW' unless there is a specific named port you have to print to on the printer.
Once you've done this, to add a new printer on the XP client you will browse for it on the network, and then select it. XP will prob say that no printer driver exists on the server, in which case you say 'OK' and either install the default XP client driver or a driver from a CD/elsewhere.
Your users should then be printing via SME, so you should be able to monitor their useage etc. Enclosed is a screenshot of our setup, we have 3 n/w printers (they happen to be printing via 2 separate print servers (hence the specific 'remote name' (the assigned ports on the print server), but the principle is the same)) and you can then control the queues etc thru sme.
