SME7.1 not a IMAP4-mailserver?
« on: February 27, 2007, 09:13:03 PM »
Hi all,

I use SME7.1 as mailserver and Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5.0.9 as mailclient.

Since a week or so Thunderbird receives mail but doesn't send mail and displays the following error:
Code: [Select]
mailserver [name] is not an IMAP4-mailserver

I searched the forum and I found this:

Code: [Select]
/sbin/e-smith/config setprop imap ConcurrencyLimit 200
    /etc/e-smith/events/actions/imap-conf
    svc -t /service/imap

but "/etc/e-smith/events/actions/imap-conf" doesn't exists!

What can be the problem?

Hi Ray,

I did a yum update with a "signal-event post-upgrade; signal-event reboot;"

I believe some php's where updated and SA.

I checked the outgoing settings, but they are not changed.

Thanks,

The errormessage "this is not a IMAP4 mailserver" has disappeared. But now another errormessage appeared saying that Thunderbird can't connect to the smtp mailserver.

SME Server 7.4
Thunderbird 2.0.0.22

I'm using the same mail client.

On SME7.4, I've set Email- Settings:
Quote
POP3 server access    Allow private and public (secure POP3S)
IMAP server access    Allow private and public (secure IMAPS)

Then in the mail client ( thunderbird 2.0.0.22) i've set access as 'SSL'  to use ports 993 and 465.

All works.

I have the same settings, and it has run perfectly for more than a year or so.

But now I can't get rid of the problem!!

I've tried to delete a bunch of big emails, but it does not help!

Further, when I am getting the error, the client gets extremely slow and network connection gets disconnected!!

There is no impact on other clients connected to the server.
