Topic: Fax doesn't work anymore...

Hi,

I'm using a SPA-2000 with
1.) Siemens Gigaset (Operator Extension, 5000)
2.) Fax HP Laserjet 3200 (Extension 7000)

My PCI Telephony Cards is an TDM400 which I use to fax and phone. In Globals Autosense FAX Extension is set to 7000 and FAX Detect Delay is set to 4.
Fax is selected in the Analogue Trunk.
The state of extension 7000 is OK.

It is possible to sent faxes.
When I receive a fax I get following message:

HI Gery,

Which releae of SAIL do you have and which Asterisk rpms have you installed?

I can see from your log (thankyou for this) that Asterisk is detecting the fax but not until long after the call has already been sent to extension 5000. One small question - yiu say that faxdetectdelay is set to 4 but the system is issuing a wait of 5 seconds.  Can you confirm please?

Finally, did you ever have fax working and what, if anything, have you changed since then?

sail version: sail-2.2.1-664
asterisk version: asterisk 1.4.21.1

Fax worked in the past.
I updated sail and asterisk today.
Fax out still works.
I already tried a fax dedect delay of 7 or 3 seconds. The log message is the same.

What release did you have before the update?

Sorry to ask lots of questions but it may help me find the bug.

I will sim ulate thgis in a day or two and get back to.

I think it was sail-2.2.1-640 or sail-2.2.1-644.
But the problem in receiving faxes could have been already before updating.
I don't receive so many faxes. Sending alwas worked.

I've had the same problem here. I have extended the fax detect delay out to 10 without success.
I still get the Fax detected but no fax extension found.
I've just been blind transferring the call to the fax extension. Luckily I don't recieve many faxes or it would probably irritate the heck out of me.....

Just an update on this...

WE think we've tracked down the problem (with help from frederik - thanks frederik).  We've put a patch on frederik's machine which seems to cure the issue.  PLan is to include the patch in the next release cycle.
