« on: September 23, 2009, 08:36:44 AM »
Hello guys,

I was wondering, is it possible to limit the number of Previous Versions from 64? I would like to enable it on my SME server but i wouldnt want it to keep more than about 10 copies.

Thanks,
Brendan

Care to explain what you are talking about? This is pretty unclear, 64 versions of what with which? Keep in mind we do not have a crystal ball, so try and describe what you are doing and what you are wishing for.

Sorry, now that I read that message again I can see how unclear it is. With Previous Versions, every time you run a certain command (usually through a cronjob), it makes a copy of all the changed files, which is accessible through Windows Explorer. However, it makes 64 backups (according to the wiki, assuming i read it and remember it correctly). After these 64 it starts overwriting old ones. I was wondering if it is possible to limit it to say 10 backups.

Thanks,
Brendan

You can limit the number of snapshots yes, but the maxium amount of snapshots is 64, you can follow the Setup Cron to suit your requirements.
