Hi

I am new to Linux and please forgive my novice approach. I know there is a post on this and I have read the resolution but I don't understand what to do, I have installed the ISO install CD on to the HP workstation (which I'm using as a server) and the hard drive is a 500gb Western Dig WD5000 AAKS (SATA). It installs fine, but when it first boots up, it gets stuck on CREATING QUOTA FILES, and the underscore just flashes. The other guy on the forum was told to do the following which resolved the issue, but I just don't know how to do it :

"Please, try to install with the following parameters:

sme pci=nommconf all-generic-ide

Then, after the first reboot, stop when you see the SME Logo and add these parameters again at the kernel, typing "a", one space, and then add pci=nommconf all-generic-ide"

Do I have to do anything in bios..?

I look forward to any advice!

Peter

I've sorted this one now, I sad Bios set to IDE on the hard drive, I changed it to RAID, reinstalled and worked fine.
