Problems accessing ibays (Shared folders)
« on: January 21, 2010, 12:20:37 PM »
Well been pulling my hair out with this one.  Background:-

SME Server configured for my workgroup, internet connection works fine.

At the moment I only have 2 users; Myself and Admin - Both have seperate passwords (as you would)

I have one share (Ibay) setup that allows myself and admin access as part of the "test" group.  All other elements of SME running as expected.

So drop onto my Win 7 laptop and browse the network, and I can see the SMEServer no problems.

Double click the server and I am asked for my username and password, I enter these as I have configured them in "Users" - Incidentally its the same username & password for my laptop.

Usershomedirectory       Primary      testsh (which is the Ibay)

I can go into "usershomedirectory & primary",  double click the Ibay; testsh and I immediately get a pop up with:

"\\smeserver\testsh is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this network resource"

I have confirmed that I am a member of the group allowed to access this.  Does'nt matter if I set the ibay to the same password as my login, I still get the same error message.

I have tried everything, incl reinstall to sort this and nothing I seem to do will make it work.  Can anyone advise where I am going wrong.......PLEASE!!!!     :-( :-(

So server opens up to show me the following folders:
