Advice needed-Capping bandwidth
« on: April 09, 2010, 05:25:59 PM »
Hi

I need to stop a user from having internet access once they reach a certain limit (say 250MB). Is this possible using SME?

Thanks

Not without very significant and difficult modifications.

Thanks for the info

I'm battling to find a solution to this. Does anyone know of something alternative?
The "user" will be identified by IP address. Iptables maybe?

hi

you should take a look to IpCop and this add-on (pretty old)

and this one.. works on latest IpCop/Smoothwall and should be able to auth your SME's users
