Topic: SME 8 beta 5 enabling contribs

Hi all:

I am feeling a bit stupid. I have tried to enable contribs on SME8 beta5. I cannot seem to make YUM realize that I have done this. YUM just seems to ignore my contribs (and Dungog) addition. I am a paid Dungog subscriber so I was able to add my account info. I followed his directions and also the directions on adding the contribs I found elsewhere, but nothing seems to make a difference, when I try a YUM install it tells me that the install is not available. I don't have the exact error at this moment.

Does anyone have any pointers on how to fix this, I am assuming that I am not enabling them correctly, not a bug.

Stefano, Thanks, yes I did read that page. After not being able to access the contribs. I used the command:
db yum_repositories print | grep '^sme' | cut -d= -f1 | while read repo
do
    db yum_repositories setprop $repo MirrorList \
    http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/smeserver/mirrorlist/$repo-8
done

as mentioned on that page. I did not do anything else mentioned on the page as this was a new install not an upgrade. Maybe I am not understanding the meaning of what was being said on the page.

I am not able to access my server currently as it is not here and I don't have it running where it is located. I will look at it tonight to see if I have missed something. I will bring it to work with me tomorrow.

I doubt that is relevant when you already have SME Server 8 beta 5 installed, all repositories should already point to the SME Server 8 repositories, so to use the contribs, the only one that needs to be changed should be SME Contribs IIRC.

@belyache: if you are a Dungog subscriber you should ask Dungog if something is wrong with their repo
