Topic: Restore question

I have an SME Server 5.0-Update 4 backup file on one of my Windows machines.  I am planning to rebuild my SME Server with version 5.1.2.  Will I be able to restore all my data and settings from the version 5.0 backup file to the newer version 5.1.2 server?  Has anypne tried this?

this is the way it is supposed to work, provided
*the file is under 2gb in size
*you have free space at least double the size of the backup file

Hello Stephen,

Since you seem to know quite a bit about SME, I was wondering if the following is normal. I backed up my files using desktop backup from an older server. I then applied update 1 to SME 5.1.2. After I restored the user information from the desktop backup, the Blades screen shows that the status for the Update1 blade was *incomplete.

My question is: should I go ahead and restore first, then apply the Update 1 (and now 2)?
