disabling email to internet from selected users
« on: November 08, 2010, 12:01:04 AM »
I am trying to restrict some users form emailing to the internet. I have set their individual accounts to only receive internal email as per the FAQ, but they can still send email.

Similarly I need some users to be able to send internet email, so this is not a blanket rule.

Firstly without any intent of being rude or offensive, is it that hard for you to do a search on the topic ?  I found this quite quickly by using the search link at top of forum and typing in Block outgoing mail.

Well it's not quite what I want. I want them to be able to send email to local domain only, not stop them from sending emails completely, which is what this would do.

Check for the functionality in qpsmtpd plug-ins.
You could also possibly achieve something by templating badmailfromto, see /var/qmail/control although tedious I'd expect.

I think you would need to write a special one.

I would first try an administrative solution rather than a technical one. Tell people it is forbidden, and then audit the logs and punish any offenders.
