try to boot with SME's cd in rescue mode.. mount your SME installation (you will be asked to do so) in read/write, then follow the instructions to chroot
now you can move to /var/log/ and search in messages log for errors.
eventually, you can do such a thing
NOTE: children, don't do it at home
- move to /home/e-smith/db
- make a copy of configuration
- edit configuration and find the row
masq=service|DenylogTarget|drop|Logging|most|Stealth|no|Trace|disabled|pptp|yes|status|enabled
- change 'enabled' with 'disabled': be sure to not alter file structure (spaces, LF, pipes etc)
- save file and reboot
