The same as advised here: http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:FAQ#Which_repositories_should_be_enabled

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: package-cleanup --problems
                        package-cleanup --dupes
                        rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

Yes, please start searching and reading the available information: http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server_8#Upgrading_samba

I would add that there are some packages form external repos:

Error: Missing Dependency: php-common = 5.2.10-1.el5.remi is needed by package php-mcrypt-5.2.10-1.el5.remi.i386 (installed)

It's great when you know where it is but hard to find when you don't.
Thank you both for your assistance!
Guess I have to figure out how to resolve the php-mcrypt problem next.

Using the search at the top of the forums using one of the lines in your error message yielded the information I provided, although you might needed to click around a little...

The php-mcrypt was raised recently in the bugtracker, not sure if it is related to your issues though: http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6468

Thanks cactus and I'll try a bit harder next time to find the answer.
I think that the bug you refer to is a bit different then what I'm experiencing with the dependency errors.
My php, php-common and php-mcrypt seem to be of the same version 5.2.10.-1 although the php-common & php-mcrypt are not stock SME as I had followed this link http://wiki.contribs.org/PHP under "PHP 5 with php-mcrypt".
