Can't Config Dansguardian
« on: February 25, 2011, 05:21:30 AM »
Hi everyone,

New to SMEServer and I need to install and configure Dansguardian on our server at work.  I've set up a server at home so I don't break our production server.

I've installed Dansguardian using yum as per the instructions, but when I try to run the config commands, I keep getting "config: Command not found".

I'm at the bash-3.00# prompt. I don't remember being asked for a root password so I'm loging into the server using the admin username that I set up at installation of SME. Have I missed a step?

version of dansguardian is 2.9-7el4.sme

thanks in advance
Barry

Have not used this contrib in sometime but if you are trying to log onto server as root, root password is identical to admin password, so using console or putty;

Login as: root
root@internalip's password: password you entered

Not sure how you got anything installed or the consequences of trying to install, if not root.

Since new to sme and because company is paying why not go with commercial/GUI version
