Problems after 7.5.1 update
« on: August 24, 2011, 06:28:16 PM »
Hi,
I have updated SME to 7.5.1 via yum update.
All went ok.
Since then, within the last 4 days, the SME server did not crash (no Kernel Panic), but we had the following problems at once:
- no incoming emails.
- Outgoing emails are stuck in our Outlook outbox ... they cannot be sent.
- access to internet impossible, despite the fact the connection is on and stable.

Restarting the server was not enough ... Stuck emails in Outbox went out ... but I had to restart the modem in order to get incoming emails and internet access.

This problem only happens since version 7.5.1 has been installed.

Can someone suggest something or help out.
The problem happened on Day 2 and Day 4 ... for no apparent reason.

Thanks

To 7.5.1 from which older version?  And if from 7.1 or earlier, did you do this preparation?

Please verify if you're not low in free disk space.
That would be my first wild guess.
I've seen no internet because lack of free disk space remaining (ZERO BYTES free!).

Hi,
I regulary update the SME server (every 4-5 months), last time was in March 2011. I was certainely not lower than V7.4.
Regarding disk space, there is plenty left:

Filesystem           1K-blocks      Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/main-root        33091384  15871628  15538760  51% /
/dev/md1                101018     43357     52445  46% /boot
none                    647308         0    647308   0% /dev/shm

I will report the problem in the bug tracker as suggested.
