Asterisk 1.6 and Asterisk 1.8
« on: August 18, 2011, 08:54:11 AM »
Hi all

Due to recent issues we've encountered with Asterisk 1.6, issues which we understand will not now be fixed by Digium, we've decided to stop any work on that release.  Instead we will use Asterisk 1.8.  Accordingly, we've put up a new SME8.0/SAIL3.1 iso which contains Asterisk 1.8.5 and SAIL 3.1.0-128.  You can download it from

http://sailpbx.com/iso/SME8b6/SME8A18V31128.iso

The 1.6 iso will be removed shortly

Kind Regards

S

I am new to SAIL SME Server v8b6 and have been using SME for many years.
I have already done some research and only ask questions if I still can't work it out.

Will this update my current 1.6 install? Or do I need to start again? If the latter, where can I find the selintra file I used to backup so I didn't loose my settings? I'm sure it was /home/e-smith/db on my old server.

Regards,
Del

These ISOs are "one-shot" - they won't update an existing install.

The database is found at /opt/sark/db/sark.db.   If you copy the database and overwrite the installed one make sure that you run the updater (sh /opt/sark/scripts/update_db.sh) after you do the copy.

Kind Regards

Jeff
