VPN using an Ipad
« on: December 07, 2011, 07:44:04 PM »
Hello I downloaded a the version of sme server v8 and can't connect via pptp using an Ipad.
I've tested the VPN on an MS server and it works fine.

I can connect using a windows client to the sme server and that works fine but not on the ipad.

I've looked through the forums and can see only one link and it was in italian.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Do you get any error messages on the IPad? If so what do they say (verbatim)?

A VPN connection could not established to the pop server. If the problem continues, verify your settings and contact your administrator.

The username and password are correct. It works on a VPN client on xp.

Thanks

Are you quite sure you have the error message correct?  VPN is not a POP server, make sure when setting up the VPN on the iPad you have selected PPTP and not L2TP and then it will work as I've configured my iPad with success a long time ago now.
