Hello!
I am currently building a situation where the drivers are automatically downloaded via Samba on a SME Server and installed automatically on a Windows 7 (32 & 64 -bit) machine.
I add the driver on the following way:
1. Windows Explorer -> \\<IP-from-my-SME-server>)
2. Here stay my two printers that I've added via the SME Server (server-manager -> printers)
3. Then click on the 'External Printers'-button
4. I click somewhere in the window with my right mousebutton, and then I select 'Server Properties...'
5. Then I go to the tab 'Drivers' and add the drivers (.inf file)
The drivers they i download, the .exe extract and load-in the .inf file.
For my Brother HL-2250ND printer this way workly for 32 and 64 -bits. When i do the same thing for my HP OfficeJet 7500 printer, then Windows comes with the error:
"The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver"
Is it just my Windows drivers or should I look for the problem in the SME Server?
This drivers i used:
