Topic: Install on system with Hardware RAID [Solved]

I have recently tried to install SME (V8b7) on two different servers*, both with hardware raid.  The install went as expected with no errors showing.  However when it rebooted it initially didn't work, trying the second boot option (network) then it started and crashed with a kernel panic.  The built-in RAID is an LSI MegaRAID on the latest server.

Would I be better off ignoring the hardware RAID and using the SME/Linus software version or am I missing a step on the set up?

*The two servers were:
HP Proliant microserver
Fujitsu TX100 S3 Server

It appears there are still driver support issues even with sme8, so you are better off disabling that onboard card/controller and using software RAID provided by SME server.
Read the link re how to disable.

Have now completed three installs of SME to this hardware, two with 8.0b7 and last night with Release 8.0, using SME raid 1..all work a treat and are running very well.
