ssh -> Admin -> Server console -> backup to USB Device
« on: June 15, 2012, 09:17:58 AM »
While performing backup to USB device in Server Console, when the backup is done, it says:
Disconnect USB device and press enter to continue.

My issue is that my server is in a colo facility, so I don't have immediate access to it.
I would like to run the "backup to USB device" on daily basis, but I can only get to the colo facility once every couple of weeks to change the USB drive.
The question is, can I hit "enter" without removing the device once the backup is done and still be able to do a backup the next day, and next day, etc?

I can't imagine that this would be a problem.

If it turns out to cause problems, you could schedule a job to un-mount and re-mount the USB.

What happens if your rack suffers a physical or electrical problem that takes out both the SME and the USB?

You may want to also setup an AFFA server to backup to another location.
