5.1.2. Multi Drop Problems
« on: July 23, 2002, 07:24:16 PM »
Hi

I wonder if someone can help me with a problem I am having with multi-drop email collection.

We have an esmith box that is picking up email from our ISP with POP3.  This box is called cimail.domain1.com

Some of the users are also addressed as  user1@domain2.com, user2@domain2.com, user3@domain2.com

They may also be known to others as user1@domain3.com, user2@domain3.com etc.

When I was using fetchmail under Redhat 6.2 (I'm no linux expert) this simply worked because the email forwarder was and is redirecting user1@domain2 to user1@domain1.

This doesn't work with Esmith and the mail gets bounced to the administrator.

I created virual domains for domain2 and domain3 but that didn't make any difference either.

So I tracked down the HOWTO at :- http://myezserver.com/downloads/mitel/howto/vdomain-alias-howto.html

But that doesn't make any difference either.

If I look at the forwarded message headers i see a line such as

X-Fetchmail-Warning : recipient address user1@domain2.com does not match any local name.

Can anybody shed any clues on this, is it because I need to change the default POP3 sort field or something?

Regards

Mark
