Topic: Month with french accents // august - août

Hi all,

SME 8.0  // french installation

I have a problem with the name of months with french accent, like août for august.

[root@t110 plugins]# ls -ls exclude-pages.1.92.zip
56 -rw-r--r-- 1 admin shared 50727 ao▒t  8 15:24 exclude-pages.1.92.zip
[root@t110 plugins]#

I have no problem with file name with accent.

[root@t110 plugins]# ls -ls accentuéé
0 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 sept. 21 13:06 accentuéé
[root@t110 plugins]#

The most serious problem I have is that I use WordPress/Surveys to make surveys. Everthing goes well but when Surveys send me an email with the results of the surveys, the accents are replaced with funny characters.

It is not WordPress or Surveys that cause this problem but SME-8.0 as I have the same problem with name of month that contain french accents.

I searched the forums and Google. It seems that a lot of people have problems with accents but nobody have a real solution.

Is there a SME solution to that problem?

A little bit more that I din't notice before.

[root@t110 plugins]# rm accentuéé
rm: d▒truire fichier r▒gulier vide `accentuéé'? y
[root@t110 plugins]#

Should read:
rm: détruire fichier régulier vide `accentuéé'? y

As  Charlie Brady wrote in the bug tracker:

An in email:
Sorry, that should refer to 'locale settings'.
The name of month, and the error message, are translated to the locale
configured on your system. They are then displayed incorrectly on whatever
character set is used for your display.

So Charlie is right as I don't see the error at the console and in ssh. Sorry I didn't think about that.

Then I will say the error is not from SME but from my system somewhere.
