« on: October 05, 2012, 10:04:33 PM »
Hi, is there anyone who has installed ]project-open[ on a SME8 server?
I'm looking for a project management system and I allready tried egroupware, redmine and groupoffice.
I'allways open to suggestions for other ideas.

Did you try installing it as per instructions ?
There may be a few minor adjustments to suit the sme way, but most apps can be installed on most Linux systems as long as general compatibility exists, and in this case it does seem to exist for Centos 5.x.

No, I didn't, yet. But even after all those years having a SME server, I'm not to familiar with Linux....
The 'minor adjustments' scared me of. For instance, I haven't worked out yet how to install it in /opt
I was just looking for an easier way

That's not going to be a simple task. It depends on aolserver, which is a web-server which is an alternative to apache. You would need to configure aolserver to work on a non-standard port, and then use ProxyPass in apache to patch ]project-open[ requests (URLs)  through to aolserver. You also need to install and configure postgresql.

I have tonight experimented with the installation. Despite that there is a CENT OS installtion, I had to abort the attempt times. That's for a very long weekend. :-?

I had planned to do try it last weekend, but in an attempt to clone my main VM I broke down my VirtualBox...
After repairing VirtualBox I tried to add de Project-Open VM in VirtualBox, but that didn't work.
Maybe tonight
