I'm not aware though, that a default install of sme 8 has the sme7contribs repo already setup (whether with new data or restored data).
sme8 does have the smecontribs repo setup, but pointing at the sme8 version of the smecontribs repo.

In my experience users will need to configure the sme7contribs repo on any newly installed sme8 server, or servers upgraded from sme7 to sme8 (using CD). Not checked with a yum OS upgrade as I've not done that.

Once again you are correct! :) I must have executed this step myself on an earlier install and it came over with the restore. As someone once said "my memory is great but it's short!"

I've generalized the instructions to check for its existence rather than making assumptions.
