It's probably easier to search the smecontribs repo for contribs by name, using a URL like this
http://distro.ibiblio.org/smeserver/releases/7/smecontribs/i386/RPMS/I think those in charge behind the scenes at contribs.org are slowly reviewing all contribs, and eventually those that are OK for sme8 will be placed into the sme8 smecontribs repo, so the standard command
yum install --enablerepo=smecontribs packagename
will work OK, but it may be some time before that task is completed.
The instructions provided earlier are only necessary during the changeover phase from sme7 to sme8, before the sme8 smecontribs repo is totally populated with all contribs.
If updating contrib wiki articles, it may be best to just link to the generic instructions I referred you to. Perhaps the comment above can also be added to the generic advice.
That way each wiki article only needs a link added, and the advice can be created once and maintained in one place rather than scattered all through the many wiki articles.
What do you and/or others think ?
