[Solved] server-manager asks for password (Basic auth)
« on: November 16, 2012, 09:02:37 PM »
Hello,

I'm upgrading from SME 7.3 to 8. So far, everything was fine, but i wanted to use basic auth for a sub directory of an Ibay. I created a custom template, which didn't work. When trying to fix this, i updated one of my ibays and set a password protection for local and internet (to see how it works, and hopefully to copy paste the result in my template). During the process, some king of Basic Auth was activated for server-maneger as well.

Now, i can access the login screen of the server manager, but, when i click OK, SME ask me for another password (in a basic auth pop-up), but i don't know what kind of user password it needs. I tried admin, root, the user of the ibay, one standard user. Nothing works.

Have you got any ideas ?

Thanks

Some additional informations :

 - I tried signal-event post-upgrade + reboot : no luck
 - https://mydomain/user-password/ works fine (no additionnal pop-up asking for credentials)
 - My other ebays still works without asking for credentials

 :-(

Sorry for the messages, but the problem was in the browser. For an unknown reason, Firefox sent some false credentials to the SME server.

I got the following in error log

access to / failed, reason: user 'manu' does not meet 'require'ments for user/valid-user to be allowed access

So, i just restarted firefox, and its OK now.
