Dumb move on my part. Daya copied with Rsync.
« on: December 19, 2012, 12:27:59 PM »
Hi Chaps.

Really quick one. I was copying data remotely on two SME's and went and copied the entire home directories. Guess what? Messed up server. Configuration seems ok, but not convinced as have not tried to change it. However users now appear that were on the old server, who have long since gone, and existing users I cannot change the passwords of.

Is there a quick way to repair this? or do I just bite the bullet, re install, and do it properly the second time :-)

Thanks Paul.
Infamy, Infamy, they all have it in for me!

well, your db files (/home/e-smith/db/*) are lost

do you have a backup?

from a shell, cd to /home/e-smith/files/users/userofyourchoice and report the output of

Code: [Select]
ls -la
