Topic: Slow, very sloww

My E-smith server is veeeeery slow, when you connect to it. All other traffic is fast and - so to speak - normal.
It goes for the secure Hppts:// as the normal web Http://...

(My ISP claims he is not filtering any of the ports (except 80, so I had to move to something else - and it works. In the very beginning (even before I changed the port) it was fast, but something must have happend afterwards).

I use E-smith 4.12

From the sound of your post, this is a personal (not busines critical) server. Why not upgrade to 5.5?

What are the specs for your box?

Does it beat up the HD as though there may be a bad/low memory problem and it is constantly paging?

While brandishing a hammer, threaten it with replacement. This could help.
